My computer crashed and after trying to restore a very old system image, an error occurred, and after rebooting the screen says there is no operating system. I cannot restore the latest image except the very old ones-Windows 10 recovery cannot see them. I installed Windows 10 Pro from ISO file with another product key. On another drive where I store my files, the files are wiped out. On yet another drive, the system images are still there, but Windows 10 system image restore cannot see the latest system image, only the very old one which caused an error. How do I get system restore to see my latest images, so I can restore my computer? I have backups of my files in the same drive as the system image and I manage to restore my files. What software is the best to sort out this system recovery problem? My new computer name is different to the computer name on the system image, but I changed it to be the same as the previous computer name. Can I still use system image recovery with differnt computer names. The present Windows 10 Pro has a product key whereas the System image one was free.
How does the computer know my old username. My username is the same as my last Windows 10 Pro. How does that happen.
Option' from Macrium Reflect Home Edition on Microsoft Surface Pro 4. And for restoration of the system disk you need an external restore.
